Torch dying from...?

Hi all,

So little bit of backstory: I started my tank 3 weeks ago and did the cycle. As im in Europe, i started it the way we do here: 2 fish in, corals in, light on dimly for the corals. The cycle is a succes as my Ammonia is now back at 0 and nitrates are in.

Now one of my torches that was greatly extended before has shrunk. It was happy before in its place for about a week or so, but i thought id give a a different place with higher flow. As i put it there i saw was caused the shrinking: 1 side of the torch seems to be desintegrating; its showing skeleton and the flesh is stringy (?) on this part. Im pretty sure its a goner anyways, but i thought, maybe some kind of dip can save it?

My param are as follows: (expect for phosphate, 0.1 by now)

I have found it rare that a torch head survives from BJD. Some say iodine dips help but I don’t think I’ve seen a success with it. If it’s just one head, I’d at least isolate it in a different tank (if possible) if not I’d unfortunately toss it so it doesn’t infect others (not much is known about the transmittance but it’s been seen to affect other otherwise “healthy” colonies). If multiple heads, just frag the bad head and there’s a chance the healthy one will make it. Hope this helps some

well i dont have QT, so i just took it out and gave it a proper send off. Not worth risking a 1 head 35 bucks frag for my more expensive torches in there!

im very lucky with my LFS, they are more of a wholesaler and will price down when importing prices go down as well. For example: NY Knicks or Dragon Soul is about 99 bucks here.
