Received some rics this week and this one came in a bit damaged. Should I cut off the torn piece or leave it be? There is a mouth in there so I don't know if I should just leave it and see if it regenerates or not.
Thanks guys. I figured it would be best just to leave it be, so thats what I'll do.
I'll try to get some full pics of my new ric garden up this weekend. They're still getting fully adjusted to the new tank but most are opened up pretty good now.
just fyi, I moved a rock that has about 10 rics on it the other day, and a tiny little piece was attached to another rock. I mean like 1 inch by half inch, with no mouth. I felt it tear off and a day later that tiny little piece was all puffed up and happy. It's getting bigger and seems happy. I was quite surprised to see this with out a mouth attached.
I once fragged a bunch of rics off a rock and was cutting one off the base, accidentally cut too much and sliced the thing in half... goo going everywhere. I was left with to piles that looked like bubble gum. 3 days later, I had 2 healthy looking ricordea frags 1/2 the size of the original.
