first off everyone in my neighborhood seems to be ok, but a tornado came ripping through deland this morning and I may need some fishsitters. the rumor is that the main feed lines may have been knocked out so we could be looking at a while with no power. at the moment I have battery bubblers going and will get the generator going when the rain stops but in the idea of prepardness I was wondering if anyone had some room in their tanks to hold some fish and corals? I'm trying to make a list of people willing to hold some critters in case I have to. this will most likely happen later tonite or on sunday depending on how bad its looking during the day. ThanKs bunches !

on another note we have no tv and radio news is no good, can someone drop how widespred the damage is from the news? the fire dept. is still assessing so my usual leads know nothing yet..... besides the news generally is 3 steps ahead anyways! Whens the rain supposed to end? thanks and fyi I'm typeung on a cell phone if I don't respond right away don't be offended.

forgot, I've got multiple tanks so mo than 1 person will be needed, and I will make it well worth your time with frags, some now and some later:) all tanks are healthy.

Wow I'm so glad your ok. Hopefully someone can help. I don't have the space because all i have are my nanos. But you definitly have tons of people here that will help.

Heavy Band of rain from Tanpa to Daytona beach.
The band is moving east.
One hour: band has moved from Leesburg to Sanford (in that area)
I-4 east and west shut down in deland area
Deland got hit hard. Hail in apopka.
t-Watch ends at 6:00? (weather man thinks it'll take longer)

You know I live far away, and my tank is just set up (Alk and PH still shifting) but my fish and Corals are OK, I could meet ya 1/2 way if no one else closer will help Titusville or so.
Glad your OK

Glad to hear you & your family are ok Brian!! I don't have room for any fish, but I am sure someone can help and will be along. Hang in there, we are here for you if even only for moral support. There was a bad accident along I-4 involving a tractor trailer. I called Marcye to warn her it was heading to Geneva, but I got no answer....SORRY Marcye & Tom..just worried about you!:( As of right now, there are new storms coming in off the shore. I hope everyone will be ok!!

Not to sound stupid Brian but 1888-228-8485, they said to call if your powers out. stay safe over there.
Mike

well from what I'm hearing at least 12 confirmed tornados:( I hate to say it but I fear the worst from what I'm seeing its much worse than the xmas storms.
good news is there is a power company employee at the end of my street and somehow he has a full crew down there already so I may be in luck. thanks everyone for the info, Jolu I will let you know, wouldn't be a prob. for me ti bring em to you if need be. Ricanboy, thanks for the map, that wa the single best piece of info for me and the crew to get.....I'm off to the command site to see if they want to put me on shift, be back soon

I could put a fish in my 24 nano if you need it. The 180 is pretty stocked with good size tangs, so aggression might be a problem with any similar fish in there. LMK if you want more info or want to set something up...

Brian, you can drop stuff in our tank if this isn't too far out of the way! Sounds like you might be in good shape, but that depends on which side of the outage your on!
Ben

I would definately let you put stuff in my tank, but sadly, i dont think you would want to.....its kind of aggressive, but i would have Brian, i would haveif i could have.....: )

Brain....

My tanks are your tanks... I have my two setup and another 40G I can put up quickly for FO and im also setting up my grow out tanks this weekend, so I have room if you need it...

Glad you guys are ok, just call me if you need me... for whatever.. will PM you my number incase you don't have it..

Jack

Brian, I live in DeBary and have room for corals and may be some for fish. PM me with your phone number and I'll help.

Matt

you all rock! jack and matt are close so if it looks like we won't have power soon I will get with you guys. come to think of it jack I could easily bring on of mt 75 to and have plenty of room.

my next question is this... I'm currently running return pumps and powerheads on my generator, I know constant on would be best but what ratio would be ok for on off? I'm thinking 1hr gen. run and 1 hour batery bubbler? think this will keep things ok for today? if the powers not back I plan on having stuff out later this evening but want to give the generator some time to rest in the day.

Hey Brian,
What a night, huh?!? I dont have a "healthy" enough tank right now, but you are more than welcome to bring a tank or tanks over if you need to.

Brian, i would think your cycle should be fine. of course running constant would be best. but got to do what you got to do!

15A and 17-92 area is a mess, the health dept roof caved. I-4 is a mess there are 4 over turned semis on I-4 by the 44 exit. Its supposed to rain on and off for awhile.
During the hurricains we made a makeshift shelter for the generator with 3 pieces of plywood and had no problem.
My boyfriend is headed out to McGregor with his bob cat to try and dig a friend out, because all the roads are blocked to his house with trees. Do you guys have access out? I am headed to work, call me if you need anything
PM sent

I always have room in my tanks to help out. You don't want me to hold SPS, but I can manage with anything else if you need the help. I have five tanks setup and running, so I can manage to squeeze for a while if need-be. I might go for a little shorter of a cycle, but that sounds fine. Maybe change on the half-hour. More intermittent choppy cycles are usually what makes them most comfortable. Obviously don't want to overdo it because the startup on the pump is what uses the most power...

this site is amazing! thank you all, driving around I'm finding there is power near me so I am hopefull that we will be up and running soon, keep your fingers crossed. just in case I am off to the store for plastic bags.

My newest question is this.... If the groundhog gets blown away by a twister do we get more winter or what? just wondering......
