I am so stuck between getting a MH T5 combo or just T5 over my 55...I want to do mainly LPS but i do have a monti and birdsnest under my 175 MH and 110 PC right now....Will the T5 be enough? or should i just do the MH T5 combo?

T5HOs will work great for a tank like that. A high quality 4-bulb fixture will be able to handle the corals you want but it might be a little difficult to keep SPS that need super strong light. Birdsnest and Montis should all do great.

I have a friend who has a 55g packed with SPS( and I mean packed) and it's lit with 4 t5's. So I would say you can keep anything you want.

Try to get a fixture with individual reflectors.

I keep any sps I want with 4x54 tek light. Granted, I bet they would grow faster with more light.

Although, keeping sps is not just about the light, I am sure you know this, though.

Yeah...flow flow flow....along with keeping the calcium up too! lol a little hard learned experience behind that...I the birdsnest frag for free so i decided i'd get the monti since i already had the other sps...the birdsnest started to die off after a while i finally was able to get my calcum up and it stopped receding...figure that
