Tough decision to sell everything

I'm going back to building houses in about 1 1/2 weeks and will not really be able to take care of my tank the way I should. I really haven't been caring for it the way I think I should lately anyway. I'm going to first just offer everything I have in one lump sum. If it doesn't sell that way then I might break up later, not sure. All goes for $1200. 150 gal tank with stand and canopy(6 ft tank), 110 gal tank(6 ft tank) with stand and homemade canopy has 3 175 W metal halides that I put in with homemade reflectors(kinda crude but gets the job done), 2 standard 55 gal tanks, 1 29 gal and 1 10 gal, 2 rubber maid containers(I use 1 to mix salt and 1 for my ato), sequence barracuda pump, aqua c-ev180 skimmer with pump, ato, various other small pumps. Fish - blue hippo tang, mated pair of ocellaris clown fish, royal gramma, diamond goby, coral beauty angel, 2 yellow/blue damsels, matted filefish. Coral - blasto(about 10-12 heads), large brown toadstool, cabbage leather, kenya tree, 2 big colonies of buttons polyps, lps brain(not sure what it is), tri color sps, crocea clam, galaxea(sp?), fire shrimp, aprox 250 lbs live rock(various types) and some live sand. That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there is some other small miscellaneous stuff.

I'll be interested in the ocelleris mated clowns, tri color sps, and button polpys. I think you should sell it separate like part out. Guranteed you'll get much more money than a whole set. To sell the whole set you need to find an old wise guy who has $$$ to buy it. But i can guranteedd you not alot of mids and teens willl have that money to cash it out and it will take you close to a year to sell it, Trust me. Been there done that, Lucky i found a old guy who bought my aquarium for $1800

sorry to hear it Ryan... seems like a lot of the reefers i meet in "the early years of my interest in the hobby" are dropping out for one reason or another.
i guess things change and we all move on.. hopefully in the future you'll be back!!!!

Hate to see you drop out, our Club has really had some losses this past year, with transfers, and moves and job issues we have had many of our most active club members that have moved on to other things.

It has been a very difficult issue for me to stay in the hobby myself, I am just too stubborn to give it up. One of the great things about this hobby is that it something that you can enjoy your whole life, and you can always jump back in when the time is right. Hopefully someone will take this from you like they did Jays outfit, and get off to a great start. Someone will have a nice setup for sure.

Wish you and yours the best of luck in your new(return to your old) venture.

Wow Ryan. I too share Bill's sentiments. THere's been a lot of transition this year.

I was out of it too for a several-year hiatus, but I always knew I would come back. And here I am.

This too shall pass my friend. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks guys! Yes, I also feel that I will return. It's something that I definitely love doing, just too much going on right now to keep up.

I had a request for pics, so just decided to post them here. As you can see in a couple of the pics there is a little cyano in my tank now. Once again, I haven't really taken quite as good of care of the tank recently as I normally do. I normally have zero cyano and little or no nuisance algae. Anyway, on to the and a quick video:

One other animal that's in the tank that I forgot to list is a pretty large brittle star. It's center disc about the size of a half dollar. It's one of the very first animals I ever put in the tank.

I haven't checked this forum in a while and just noticed you were getting out. I remember taking a drive out your way to attend the meeting at your house to see this tank in person. It is a nice setup. I also remember you did a two part DIY while we were there.

I hate to see people have to leave the hobby, but I wish you well on your new job.

I really need to move this, just can't keep up anymore. Gonna lower the price to $1000 for everything listed.

Sorry to hear about this Ryan, but my experience is that folks usually aren't looking for a complete rig with (albeit) a Discount tag Price.

I wish you luck, but you may want to part it out, just to move it all. Sorry pal.

I know if it had the financial ability I'd pick the whole system up from you. But if you do decide to part it out, I'd be interested in a few items.

Good luck still, SURELY there is someone within the no too distant area that a quick buy like this could save a ton of time, money, and work for?! Have you posted in the adjacent areas reef clubs to see if anyone would be willing to make the drive for it?
