Toughts on multiple Ocellaris...

Hi!

So I have a question for you all...

Right now I have 3 tanks - 12g, 14g and 30g - and am thinking of giving my 12g to my niece as she would really like to get started in the hobby...

Problem is I have clown pairs in all... GSM pair in the 14g, black o pair in the 30g and orange o pair in the 12g...

None of the pairs are spawning yet - but all are paired off (sleeping together and definite female/male)

What do you think the chances would be of keeping the 2 ocellaris pairs together in the 30g?

I know of all clowns - they are the easiest to keep together - but I also know that some clowns just won't tollerate being together especially 2 females...

My thought is MAYBE I could try it - and if I did try it - know that I may have to remove my orange pair (if I have to get rid of one pair - it would be them)...

What are your thoughts - should I even try it?

This is what I would do, take the black pair out of the 29 gallon and put them in the 12 gallon but in that net breeder thing you have. Then I would rearrange the 29 gallons aquascaping. Then put both ocellaris pairs in the 29 gallon at the same time. That way no one has a territory. If they end up fighting anyways then I would get rid of the orange pair. Thats the only thing I can think of that might keep your ocellaris from killing each other.But..thats a big but..lol.. IMHO I wouldn't even try it and give the orange pair away with the 12 gallon.

Hi - Yeah I thought about rearranging... Right now I have 2 seperate rock stacks - and the tank is a wide one - but I'm still not sure if I should risk it.

I would love to hear from people who have multiple pairs together - I know I read posts from people that have done it...

The nems are doing good - what's up with yours?

Oh I was just talking about my sebae there is nothing wrong with the LTA or the warty rock anemone. Sebae is still not settling in. It is still a sticky anemone, it is just not finding a happy spot in my tank. I think it got stung by my hammer coral the other day when it decided to go for a swim around the tank. It landed on the hammer. :eek:a few choice words were screamed out and then I got the anemone off the hammer coral. Oh well.. enough about my problems..I hope you can solve your clown situation.

I have been always told that it is bad to keep two pairs of clowns together. I tried keeping my pink skunk with my ocellaris in the 120. The ocellaris wouldn't leave the pink skunk alone. Now the pink skunk has a tank of its own. You could give it a try..see what happens but watch them closely. If you put them in the tank at the same time they( might) get along.

Sorry your sebae hasn't settled in! Mine seems happy in the corner of my tank right now - he's kind of under a rock bettween the sand and the back of the tank. Seems to be doing good there - but when I had it in the middle it would never attach for long either. Keep me posted on how yours is doing!

Yeah - I tried once before to have percs and ocellaris together and that didn't work! Most likley I'll just be trading in my orange ocellaris pair - but I would love it if I didn't have to...

Once we move I'd like to get a bigger tank for my main tank - but I know I'll never convince my hubby of that if I have 3 tanks!

I'm just a clown lover - and that stinks because you really just have to have a ton of tanks to have lots of pairs!

I know I've read of some people doing it... just would love to hear of their experiences.
