Toxic paint /epoxy removal from reef rock?

Hello,
A reefscape was made using dryrock, non toxic acrylic paint, food safe epoxy, and a krylon uv clear coat that was reported as aquarium safe on another forum. When introduced to the tank, tank responded very poorly (death or coral etc).
Anyone know a method of making this rock reef safe? Asking for a friend….haha
And yes, I know nothing good happens in this hobby fast.
Thanks.

Throw it out would be my first choice.
Sandblasting that physically removed it but I dont think that would be cheap either. You would still need to get the dust off.
Anything that dissolved it would just soak some deeper into the rock.

Make a nice planter with it.

If you want to attempt to make it safe, I would suggest a Muriatic acid bath (be sure to have proper ventilation and PPE). That will likely remove the first layer. But not 100% sure this would work. As it may allow the chemicals to soak deeper? Honestly not too sure.

Beyond that, I don’t think there’s much of an option.
