Toying with a display idea

So I have been thinking about this for quite some time now, and today I put one together. It is PVC T's X's and 90's, I put it in the 15 gallon PCI for size referance, but am getting a 30b for the tank, I am going to make another one and kinda have 2 islands so to speak. What I plan is puting acro frags on the tops, maybe adding enouph sand to cover the bottom framework, but I'm leaning away from that. Duel 150 HQI's and a couple T5's in a suspended hood, and in the sump ( will be a 40b) filter sock and skimmer, big fuge with 4 inch sandbed in 1/2 and lots of larger rubble the other 1/2, then to the return, that will be only like 250 to 300 gph, the flow in the tank will be koralia untill I can afford a vortex or two. I am thinking that with this kind of display the corals will each get lots of flow, and once they start getting bigger the stands wont be noticable.

What do you all think?

I think you're going to have a lot of stagnant water in that plumbing that's going to pollute your tank.

jmo............

Why is stagnent water in something like this so bad? and what makes that water any dif than the water in a deep sandbed? whouldn't it just make it a anarobic zone for bacteria? also, how much water is really going to be exchanged when all the tops have a frag plug glued to the holes?

I agree for a while that it will look strange and un natural, but I can invision when all the corals have filled out and it looking like a mound of corals, and with the flow still being able to get through and under the corals there I would thing be less dieoff of the lower hiden branches, as they tend to do when they are put on rocks what the flow must go around.

I got a little board yestarday so I cleared out a spot in my upper frag tank and set it up, I think I'll be sanding it a bit and painting it flat black.

I have been thinking since seeing it set up that it is a little crouded, and kinda small even with 2 of them it will be kinda barron in a 30b, so I think I'm going to spread it out a little more, add another row of risers, and also make it one big piece conecting the two and also making it kinda like a reverse closed loop, drilling a 1/8 hole under all the frags, and then between the to racks put a MJ that sucks the water through the pipes.
