Trachyphyllia opinions?

This is when I first got it, the colors were more saturated and it was more puffed out. After a month or so it had a bleaching episode and started to decline in health.


Forgive the overexposed photo.

I've been feeding it every now and then to bring it back and this is where I have it so far.

I'm happy with how far it's come, it got in really bad shape, but it's just kind of plateaued and isn't improving as much now; I mean it might be, but it's not nearly as noticeable and it's taking longer.

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm thinking I might need to try and feed it more often.

Ultimately I think it just needs more time and obviously stability, but I'm just wondering if any of you have any tricks to coloring these up to their full potential. My tank is mostly SPS which is why I have to feed, not to mention the fact that my tanks so shallow and with a 8 bulb t5 fixture I'm probably pushing 300 par on the sand bed so that also doesn't help.

Some of the color change may be due to the fact that I changed my bulb setup, like the greens are completely different. In the first photo I was heavier on blues, in the second I added in some ABS, so more white. But the saturation isn't the same on the purples, reds, pinks etc..

Put it in a shady part and make sure it's not getting too much flow. If you have a overhang with medium flow, that should help?

I have no shaded areas it could fit/go, where it's at is the best I've found for flow. Really shallow tank and because it's more focused towards SPS I kept most of the rock work low.

I read a artical on trachys, more than likely you know this, it stated that the darker in color the less light dependent they are. The brighter in color the more light demanding they are... The brighter the brain the higher in the reef they sit.
