Trapezia crab

I bought a small Pocillopora and discovered that it had a resident Trapezia crab. :bounce1:
To be precise, a male Trapezia tigrina like this one:

Unfortunately I only discovered it after dipping the coral in CoralRx :headwally: :headwallblue: :debi:
During the dip the crab shed all its limbs and now it is like one of those heads in a jar on Fururama.
Somehow it managed to move around in the bucket by using its mandibles. So I placed it back into the coral and it is able to move around in it.
Since I don't think the crab will have a chance in the tank I keep the coral with the crab for now in a small plastic cup that gets a steady drip from my skimmer. I will keep it this way until the crab molds and gets its limbs back. I hope this will be soon.

My question now is: has someone else had a similar experience and did the crab survive?

Not had a similar experience, but I would put this somewhere it can get good flow, the crab will need good flow to survive in a situation like this, lack of flow means the center of the coral won't be as aerated as possible, and the crab can't easily move around

The line from the skimmer creates a flow of highly oxygenated water straight into the coral so I think he will be good in that regard.
I can't put the coral and crab it into the tank as the other crabs there would either take this little legless guy as food or kick him out to take over the coral for themselves. Also the risk of him getting lost are just too big
