Traveling to much for sps, Is this idea worth following?

The original idea was a sps tank but due to being away from home due to work travel I do not think I can maintain it especially since this would be my first attempt at sps corals. Now I am thinking about sticking with softies but I would like others opinions on this idea. I currently have a BB 40breeder, 20sump, with 2x Vortech mp40s and an ATI powermoduler in the process of cycling. If I can not maintain the sticks I want to have a ton of movement in the tank from the softies and lps corals.

My current idea is to take the yellow star polyps from my aquapod and place them on the starboard so in time I will hopefully end up with a “carpet” of yellow star polyps which I think would provide great within the tank. Other corals would consist of different tree corals and other leathers that can withstand the high flow and provide great back and forth movement in the tank. Clove polyps would be nice and I can probably find a lower flow area in the tank that they can handle. Various zoa’s will also be placed throughout the rockwork.

What do you guys think? Would this be a good idea and would it be something other people would find interesting? I know everybody and their mother seems to be doing the sps thing these days and that’s where I was heading if I was not traveling so much. Any suggestions on other soft corals that provide a ton of movement and can withstand the high flow? Bonus points if they are a color beside brown and tan.

Also I was looking to get the Octopus Extreme 160 skimmer but think that it would be too much on a softy system of this size and will probably get the Octopus needlewheel 110 skimmer, does that sound good?
