Treat DT for Ich?

I got a 240 gallon with the following fish:
Majestic Angel
Purple Tang
Blue Tang
French Angel
Lyretail Anthias x4
Sunburst
Mystery Wrasse
Midas Blenny

All my fish are relatively small (all under 5"). The blue and purple tang both have ich, but the other fish don't. Should I treat the whole tank with Cupramine, or take out the fish and start up a QT? This tank has been up and running for a year now. I'm worried that I got ich in my DT now and that it'll spread like wildfire.

it'll be hard for two of the tangs to shake it. if it does, its just temporary and sooner or later, the hammer will drop.

dont want to scare you, but had the same thing happen to my 180g and it wiped out all my fish. i would set up a qt tank as soon as possible and treat all your fish in it. copper will kill all the invertabrates and can be absorbed by the sand and live rock. good luck.

Yes, this is a FOWLR. However, I do have a toadstool and colt coral that I don't care for very much but if I do drop the cupramine in, I would remove the corals. I might have to catch these two idiot tangs and treat them. I worry about my Angels and Anthias not making it through the cupramine. I also worry about dosing the cupramine and not being able to keep up with the concentration due to the live rock and sand. Will it go through another cycle??

i would not treat the DT... setup a QT tank.. for all fish..and let the DT sit for about...6-8 weeks

making sure you get all fish out into QT tank is Key.. dont let 1 slide because you think it doesnt have it.

QT to treat ALL your fish and the display tank empty for 8 weeks is the only way to get rid of it. I have been down this road a few times. And never put a fish in the display tank unless you know it came for a stable disease free tank or has been through extensive quaranatine.

You can copper a dt but it is difficult and very time consuming I did it with my 400 fowlr system and personally would never do it again do the qt tank and go fishless in main dt for 8 weeks or do research on hypo which I have also done with better results

+1 on hypo. I have never used copper or cupramine. Hypo worked very well in my 220. You just have to do a lot of research on it and fast to take care of your situation at hand. I feel if you have a FOWLR, it is less stressful on the fish in hypo instead of transferring them to a smaller tank and treating with copper. Either way, there is no easy way out.
