Treating black ich while treating ich

I currently have a blue eyed tang in QT with cupramine, which has been in there for about 4 days. I noticed some black spots on her fins and body and believe it is black ich although hard to tell for sure. I am wondering what the best action to take against black ich while treating ich. I am trying to decide between waiting until copper treatment is over and then prazipro treatment. Or prazipro freshwater dip and then back into cupramine.

Why not treat both concurrently? I've used Prazi w/copper successfully many times. MrTuskfish stated that the, "mfg of PraziPro says its effectiveness is decreased when used with copper". So you may need to do more than the usual 2-3x dosing that's normally done with Prazi.

Ive never used prazi before but the label makes it sound as though you are only to use it for a few days at a time? Is that the case or can I just leave it in there and the dose will dissipate?

Basically you dose it at 4-5 day intervals. The active ingredients in it will dissipate after a day or so. But make sure you do at least a 25% WC before each new dose. This is mostly necessary due to the worm (Black Ich) die-off. For you, this also means testing and treating any replacement water with copper.

Prazi is effective against the black ich parasite correct? And the copper will not react with prazi? (this is what i have heard a few times, including from you)

Three things work on Black Ich: Formalin, Prazi, f/w dip... Formalin isn't a good option for you because I wouldn't mix that with copper. Might be OK but I've never tried it. Personally, I don't like dips because it's very stressful on the fish and you have to keep doing it. And it doesn't always work because sometimes the parasite/worm is still alive in the QT and the fish gets reinfected.

IME copper doesn't react negatively w/Prazi.
