How do u guys treat ur corals b4 u put it in your tank. I been hearing about alot of pests, and disease on corals and how hard it looks to get rid of the problem once introduced into the main tank. I'm doing some research on how to prevent these pest and disease but would like to hear from personel experience and methods. ex. dipping, quarentine..... and the methods u guys use for different corals, ex. sps, lps, zoas...

i dont dip my corals as a preventative measure, but i will quarantine them. most the time anyway :). if i know where the coral came from, and i know its a clean tank, then i usually dont sweat it. pest like flatworms, red bugs, and others get passed around a lot in the hobby. so if i get a frag from someone i dont know it goes in the QT for a few weeks. that way i can observe the coral. if i see any pest, then i will treat the coral.

it really depends on the pest. theres several dips that work for somethings, and not for others. something like aiptasia i will shoot it with some joes juice while in the QT. a lot of pest can be manually removed.
