Hi All,
I have acquired 2 new angelfish and one of them had ich and now both of them are infected.
I have a quarantine tank of 250 l fitted with a UV steriliser and I have prophylactically treated the fish with 3 mg of Praziquantel and 4.5 mg of Flagyl per litre.
However now that the fish are displaying white spots I have opted to add 9ml of Formalin to my 250 l QT tank. I have added a number of air stones and wavemakers to cause as much agitation as possible. After 3 days of this treatment I will transfer the fish from this tank to another and then sterilize my QT tank. Then after 3 days in the new tank with formalin again I will transfer back to my original QT.
My parameters are:
SG - 1.019
Temp - 21-23c
pH - 8.3
Nitrate - Less than 10 ppm
Has anyone done similar before with a prolonged treatment?
Thank you.
