treating live rock

i have some live rock which was in a tank with some fish that died from ich about a month and a half ago. for 3 weeks it was in a tank with a filter and clean water. for the last 2-3 weeks it has been sitting in a bucket with no air or water movement. i would think i should nuke this rock before i put it back into my display.


if you think otherwise state so, otherwise here is my question...
can ferric chloride be used in place of muriatic acid to nuke this rock?

I actually just baked my rock in my oven when I wanted to kill it off... I put it in for 250 degrees for 4 hours and cycled a couple loads through.

I feel that's better, because it isnt an acid eating away at the rock and you arent doing anything chemically to the structure of the rock.

Anyway, I know nothing about using ferric chloride but I thought I'd give my 2 cents.
