Treating zoas for Zoa Pox with Furan-2

I have a few colonies that have this. I want to treat in a separate bucket with 1 gallon of RO new saltwater to treat the infected colonies all at once. My question is I have Furan-2 packets. How much of the packet per gallon???

For those that have used and treated successfully with this product.

These guys/gals will likely get you a lot quicker response than the general forums.

I have done a Furan-2 dip on some of my zoas and have had good results from it. I read that you should be using 1 packet for one cup of new salt water.

the 1 packet per cup is pretty strong IMO. I did a packet to about 2-3 cups of new salt water for about 20 min each dip. Key is to keep the dipping solution around the same temp as your tank. You can do this by having tap water in a bucket with a heater and having a tupperware container with your solution floating in it. So they warm tap keeps your solution within its begining temp.

You can dilute the solution and dip longer and vise versa.

So for you it might be a good idea to do 3 or 4 packets of furan in the 1 gallon and keep it heated around your tank temp and dip it for 30 minutes.

Don't use new salt water, use the tank water... You'de be messing with parameter changes that way and may stress them beyond repair if they are already sick.

Furan-2 is great stuff. Keep the water in the low 80's during the dip..
