Tree coral

Any ideas on strange discoloration with tree corals? Mine has seemed healthy but last month has periodically got strange small patches of greenish blue discoloration (see pic, top center) and three bouts of blackish patches that you can rub off (almost like black algae). Parma are consistent (ca 430ish, all low at 7.3ish but has been for some time and mg around 1350 and salinity 1.026). Any thoughts? Should I be concerned?

Tree coral likes high nutrients. if you aquarium is low nutrients could die. check at night if some worm is bothering your coral.

You do have some kind of problem that's for sure. Very sickly looking. Please post a full set of your parameter's numbers also what is the temp and what lighting do you have?

Parameters are salinity 1.026, nitrate 20ish, alk 7.2 to 7.5 (trying to raise), mg 1350, ca 430ish, temp 80. It is near top of tank, maybe too much light? Lights are led, jbj Pacifica (came with the tank setup, sorry don't have much more info, they have 12 3 watt white and 12 3 watt blue I think. Could flow be and issue? Currently in moderate flow.

Other corals are a Duncan and candy cane frag both growing well, some xenia and gsp both growing well, a gorgon ian growing well and a mushroom and unidentified leather. The unidentified leather is in the back right of the photo. Rarely puts it's polyps out, not sure why. Finally a small colony of zoas is near g he tree coral though not touching. Any thoughts appreciatex, I'd like to make him happier.

Looks no different than when just about every other leather I know of drops an arm. I am not sure if they do this because of propagation or because the one arm is getting into something that it shouldn't from time to time.

I noticed that when my Kenya tree patch would sleep at night, a lot of them would lay down just far enough for the bubble tip to swipe at them, I lose limbs left and right because of this.

Check to see if its not laying or swaying into anything.

The rest of the coral looks good to me, just the one arm.

lights for 6 hours a day? Seems a bit low to me, I like to ramp up and taper my lights over a 10 hour period, just check flow and if intensity is too much for it.

I can't really ramp up but can increase the length of time which I will try. Regarding flow that always seems to be a subjective one when you do research. I'd say the are currently in moderate floe, a powerhead is about 6 inches away on the lowest setting with alternating flow. Appreciate the advice, thanks.

I would look to have your lights on 8-10 hours a day, you may slowly increase it but 6 is not enough for photo corals IMO
