I received a 4" piece of orange tree sponge . I have read That they last only a matter of a couple months . Has anyone had long term success with them . How about growth ? Also considering the blender method . Has anyone personally done this with long term success ? I think I might have better luck with many small ones .

Though I would more likely cut carrot slices and divide into eights and scatter with the flow . Somebody has done this ! Yes ?

Tree sponges usually get large. I would reccommend them only for large tanks because they may exeed three feet! how big is your tank? what kind of treesponge is it?

actually, most tree sponges are about 18 inches. But they need tanks around 100 gallons. Unfortanutly, some tree sponges are toxic(careful!). They sometimes overgrow corals. The reason many people loose tree sponges is because they often can't meet its right feeding needs. You can sucsessfully rear this sponge if you:

.Meet it's feeding needs(you can get regualr filter feeder food)
.Meet the tank size (100 gallons)
.Have swift currents

I think you may be able to keep that sponge in good health if you reasearch the requarerments. (I might possibly Get some tree sponges for my home aquarium so I have been reasearching them, you can talk to me if you need more treesponge info) :spin1:
