Tri-color Valida vs Purple Bonsai

Both seem to have similar looks as frags, but I'm wondering what the typical color difference is once they grow out? What are y'all's experience with them?

Yeah that's the impression that I get from looking at google pics. I want that purple coloration. I should probably stick with a bonsai then.

Exactly, such a deep purple on the bonsai where the valida can have streaks of blue green and even tan.

Agreed The true Garf stays "bonsai" solid purple grows like a monti
Valida more like a brown purple tip table

Here is a pic of a Garf bansai, and a tri color in the background. its not the focus of the pic, so its a bit blurry. You can see the garf is solid purple with green polyps. (now, when it was a frag it was very pale, and almost indentical to a tri color).
the tri-color in the back ground has a greenish hugh skin and purple tips, with green polyps. I also have another try color that is tan with purple tips

I'm sold. It's Garf bonsai for me. I need to stop getting green corals though. I swore I was done but I found a really nice looking green monti cap frag today to plant next to my red monti cap. I really want those suckers to intertwine.

The Bali Tri-Color in my tank looks almost the same as Garf Bonsai. The Garf is suppose to be more purple but in my tank is blueish.
Bali Tri-Color is more of solid blue where the Tri-Color Valida had blue purple tips and tan brown body. Tri Color Valida usually doesn't look like Garf Bonsai where as the Bali does.
Also the growth form of the Garf is usually smaller bunch branches and a bali & valida seem to grow out longer branches.
