Triggers and Electricity

What about using a power bar (multiple outlets) with a GFCI?

Do you mean using a powerbar that has a GFCI built into it, or plugging a powerbar into a GFCI?

If it's the first, then I can only say that they have variable reliability from what I've read.
If it's the latter, then yes, you can do that just fine.

Oh, and I think it's fine to have the main return pump in a different outlet, but I would just have that outlet also be a GFCI. The chances of both falsing tripping at the same time is unlikely if they're good quality.

Wolverine,

I was talking about

1) plugging a powerbar into a GFCI, and
2) plugging my return pump alone into a separate GFCI outlet.

The power bar would be for most of the rest of the equipment, which is less essential than the return pump in case of power cut-off.

Both good ideas. That's how we had the tank set up at our old house.
