Triggers...weak swimmers?

Are triggers weak swimmers? Cause mine is a pink tail and about 5-6" and when I first got him he got stuck in the strainer for my closed loop and then today he got stuck again and I wasn't home so he died...is this normal for them cause I'd like to attempt another one and maybe pick one that is a better swimmer...

My trigger is that size and no way it would get stuck, I have closed loops on the system. My pinktail is a very strong & fast swimmer ...........

I have two blue throats they are very fast when they want to be. Id say your trigger was sick. Was it eating?

Trigger was fine, and eating well. Doing laps around the tank, but either they are very dumb fish, or not very strong swimmers.

Funny you say that because my Pinktail is a great swimmer, I am just wondering if there was something wrong with your Fish.

I have some pretty powerful pumps going yet no problems. On my closed loops with the large pumps I do have large strainers, the small ones had to much suction & I was worried about my fish getting stuck.

Maybe there was something wrong with him, anyway...its too bad. That trigger was not my first choice so now I will get a Picasso..

Sorry for your loss.

Pinktails are nice looking triggers. But I, as others, think it had to have been sickly to begin with.

I have a picasso, they have lots of personality.
