Trio of Bartlett's Anthias

I had a trio of Bartlett's and just found two of the 3 jumped the tank for some reason. They were perfectly happy and healthy so I have no idea what happened. I have an egg crate lid on the tank. It's crazy I put one of them up to it and they can just barely fit through it. I just don't understand how one, not to mention two, could get out like this at the same time. ugh.

So I'm now wondering if I should replace those two so the one left has buddies again or if there's a bigger risk of aggression towards each other. Any thoughts on this?

It should be fine to add 2 more as long as they're female and a bit smaller. I don't understand why Anthias jump either. I had 2 jump out of my QT but none jumped out of my DT. Maybe it has to do with the height of the tank. lol

Is it bad to mix different types of Anthias'? Just wondering if I could buy a couple different kinds and have them get along.

IME I don't have any problems with multiple species of Anthias. I have Maldive Lyretail, Bartletts, Tierra, and Carberri. How big is your tank?

I already ordered the 1/4 netting from BRS and plan on lining the bottom of my egg crate with it. Fool me once...

I have a 150H tank. I went ahead and ordered 2 more Bartlett's from LiveAquaria. Should be here tomorrow. Hopefully before my daughter notices them missing!

I feel a lot more sad than lonely. The trio really was cool together and it sucks to think of them dying like that when I could've just put that 1/4 netting down to avoid it. Live and learn I suppose.
