I've been a customer at Tropiquatics for about 15 years and Jim owned it then and still does I also know if you sit down and talk to him man to man you can resolve this (minor) situation with him explain to him what happened with Mary there because to every story there's 3 sides your side her side and what really happened but from past experiences you cant sit around and wait for things to settle down because stories change Jim is also like a kid in a candy store when it comes to fish and I know he would not want to take that away from anyone he truly is an understanding person and so is Mary

it seems to me that all that is happening is that thiis mary chick doesnt want to deal with the possibility of having you in the store as a second thief. thats why you were kicked out. kinda flexing her muscles you know. If I ran the store I would nave kicked you out too!!! and if the owner didnt back me up seeing that " I am his manager" I would be ****ed!!! I believe your story but if you put yourself in the other persons view, why would she want anyone in the store she is responsible for, who she believes hangs out with criminals. Talk with the owner and get it straight. IMHO Mary---- trying to do her job, mabey not the right way but trying. This doesnt seem to be the big deal it sounds like. All i'm saying is, if i had a store, what Mary did may not be right but i would not be bothered that she was trying to make sure she kept out the bad element.

what in the world are you talking about. Pick up a legal book and do some reading. How can he be guilty by association? The only way you are responsible for the act of another (with no knowledge or help) like in this case would be if the thief was your child and a minor. Mary is pushing around a kid.

I have a feeling you dont even understand the story. He wasnt with the theif when he stole the items. He wasnt involved in anyway. So should Mary not let in any teenager into the store??

Are we all now guilty by association since we are now all talking to this guy? Come on now...

No, Mary said it like she was above him.. I have another witness to back me up.. I told her precisely,

" Well, Jim doesn't have a problem with me being here"

her reply

" I'M JIM'S MANAGER" (in a really like affirmative voice, and then she proceeded to give me a brief summary of her history with Jim and how's she manages him)...

I took it that she thinks she's above Jim.. Without a doubt..

I'm goin in today guys and I'll let you know whats up.. Jim's gonna be the only head guy there.. :)
 
I dont agree with Mary dont get me wrong, she IS bullying the kid, she is wrong. what she is doing is wrong and not legal. you guys are reading to far into what I wrote. I worked in a store that had alot of shoplifters in it (patrons and employees alike) and I would say that 95% of the people I booted from the store couldn"t be proven guilty. but that didn't mean they werent criminals. Legally I was wrong, but I'd do it again. It made my job easier and safer. I would boot the guy or girl shoplifting then I would go to the other side of the store and boot the "innocent" person they came in with. with no prior conviction, as soon as they would walk in... I would direct them out, the prior offender I booted and anyone else he was with. I don't believe this applies here, I do believe that the kid is in the right. All I offer up is some rhyme or reason for why he was treated as he was (badly). Then again it could be just that shes not too bright or customer service oriented or just plain mean or... mistaken?

I have been to the store many times. Am a member. I get ignored sometimes, but Jim seem to be an upstanding guy.

I hope you have talked to him and let him hear your views.

If not, we can step in. I don't think you should print this thread and bring it in.

Too many opinions. We stand by the store, but not by the actions of one employee.
 
maybe he was arrested for his friends actions..lol
they got fingerprints off the front of the glass...
they got me too.. i touched that tank.. now im on the run.. armed fish robbery..lol
 
Gotta love all that drama. The kid is on here ranting because he had a problem....I bet if he still had the problem, he would still be on here complaining
 
so the kid writes a short novel and gets us all into the story and he just dissapears. I think we must find this little ankle biter and hunt him down and get our answers to the conclusion of this fiasco lol
