Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium

That stuff is just calcium I think. It is not a 2 part substitute unless you didn't need the other parts in the first place :)

The Bio-Calcium is just for calcium look on the page they have a product called Tropic Marin ALCA-BALANCE which does both alk and calcium.

So do I need an alkalinity buffer as well? I'm sorry I just don't get this part of the equation. I spoke to the LFS and they said the Bio Calcium should be fine??? I find that hard to believe, as there's a big market for alkalinity buffers? Any ideas?

Quick question on this stuff. I went to my LFS and the salesman recommended Tropic Marin Bio-Calcium. He told me this would replace my 2 part Alk/Calcium system.

However I keep reading the box and it says nothing about Alkalinity. Did I mess up here? If I'm using Bio-Calcium what else do I need to use???

Sounds to me like your LFS want to try and sell you something he can't get rid of. ;) Stick with your 2-part supplimentation. It is a better practice for keeping alk/calcium in balance. You cannot mix alkalinity and calcium suppliments in one package as one will cause the other to precipitate out on addition.
