Tropic Marin Bio Magnesium

I bought some Tropic Marin Bio Magnesium to boost up my Mag to about 1500-1600 ppm since i am getting alittle bit of a bryopsis problem. My question is that how would i use this if i want to up my mag in my water change container to 1600ppm to match the tank water?

Could i get a gallon jug of ro/di water, add the bio mag to the ro/di water and then dose it to my water change vat like i was dosing a regular 2 part system?

How much bio mag should i add to the 1 gallon of ro/di water to get the water at 1600ppm?

Or am i completely in left field with this analogy

even though you will get replies here, if it were me id re-post in the chemistry forum, some of the guys there are seriously intelligent, especially with questions about mag
