tropicmarin pro.....where?

I just looked at the TMpro bucket from Sea Shor, it is $85. If you go there ask to get on the mailing list, sometimes they run a sale on it for a real good price. Scott's (I know) has TM buckets, but I don't recall if they are the pro version.

Coral Reef in Norridge, sold me a bucket for the cheapest online price I could find. I think it was $70. Call 1st though, I don't know if they have any: 708-456-0768.

Thanks for the info.....I haven't been to either place. I live around Midway but I guess since I've taken the drive to Rod's reef a couple times I guess I can take a ride to one of these places. Does anybody have the # to Sea Schor?

I'll be calling both to check prices, any idea if they sell the 50/32 gallon box?

G13, I also live in the Midway area and find going to Sea Schor, Rod's Reef or Sho Tank to be all around the same time 50 minutes to an hour. Here is the info for Sea Schor.

Rod may have 1 bucket of Pro available ... call first though. I also have 1/2 bucket that I need to sell off as well.

Sara, I'm heading over to Rod's Saturday to pick up your corals you left behind, how much for your 1/2 a bucket of TM Pro.

Hey, that's not nice to take the rest of my stash that Doubledown left behind.

Either $30 for the half or maybe some frags. Shoot me a PM.

Sara, The only thing that worries me is, I left a coral behind at Rod's which was put in with your stash, I hope DD didn't grab the wrong stash. Double D it better be there when I get to Rod's on Saturday. Sara PM Sent.

Jeni - The same reason as DrJ ... I have had an algae breakout after switching from Tropic Marin to the Tropic Marin Pro. It could also be my new Tunze Rock leaching PO4, but I'm dumping the salt first. I also put some phosphate remover in a canister filter to try clean my water as well.

Hmmm... I bought a bucket... I've been mixing it with my other salts to strech it out though. Maybe that's why I haven't had the same problems. I don't think it's worth the extra $$$--will go back to the cheaper salts.

I just tested mine using RODI mixed to 1.023, using a refractometer and mostly salifert test kits.
PO4 maybe .001 (hard to tell)
KH - 7.2dkh
Ca - 390ppm
MG - 1170ppm
Ph - 8.1
No3 - 0ppm
Silicate - 2ppm ???!!!!

I'd like to think that the silicate reading is from my water (which tests off the chart), but I tested the RODI and it was .03 ppm without the salt. Maybe a TDS creap issue, but the makeup water was tested after 25 gallons was produced. I have been getting a lot of brown algae on the sides of the tank.

I just purchase a 32 gal box from saltycritter, I hope everyone isn't getting the same results.
