Trouble with Xenia

I purchased a good looking piece of xenia at a trusted LFS three days ago. It's in my established 12 gal AP. It's in high light and low flow. Since I have put it in my tank it has not opened up. The xenia looks shriveled. How long does xenia usually take to acclimate? Also, do you have any suggestions for a faster opening/acclimation?

In my experience, 3 days should be plenty for it to bounce back. What type of lighting? Doesn't need STRONG light, and if you got it from somewhere where it wasn't under much, maybe you've shocked it some? Try shading it for a day or two, see if that helps.

In case you don't know, Xenia for some unknown mystery reason doesn't survive in seemingly healthy, well established tanks. I'm sure you will get responses from people who have a tank full of difficult to care for corals in a tank that has been set up for many years that can't keep Xenia at all.

Try the light thing. Hopefully it is only trying to acclimate. Move it to a low light spot and see how it does.

if it starts to "melt" then you can start to worry.
