True Percs in a Condy

these are my true percs being hosted by their green condy. the female is an ORA true perc who was hosting a filter. when the smaller male came in he moved into some polyps. she kicked him out of there and took them over so he moved to the condy. eventually she decided to take that too and kicked him out.

now they both stay in the condy together all the time

it actually just looks that way because of the picture quality. also i took the picture just after the anemone was finished "pooping" its food from the day before.

the tentacles arent uniform in shape, when extended they contour to the tip. it only has arms on the outer area of the oral disk. normally the foot is not visible like in the pictures however it was still opening back up.

also i only run 2 T8 bulbs and usually have higher nitrates that most anemones would prefer. thats the reason i chose a condy, expecting the clowns never to actually be hosted by it, but it would be easier to keep happy and care for in my system

plus i purchased it from my work and we've only had condylactis anemones in our system there. i added it in about 7 months after i started my tank. at the time i just had the ORA true perc. it's been in for 4 months now and the male moved in over 2 months ago, the female moved in about a month ago

ill try to get better pictures with my friend's camera instead of my phone. but i guarantee that these percs are inside a condy.

That's awesome... I wishI could get my clown to hose my BTA, but they just won't... Everything else but my BTA...

i was just glad that they were hosting something other than the filter intake before they moved into the condy lol. i had a picture on my phone of the smaller perc the day after i got him sticking his little head out of a patch of some lunar orange palys. clowns are the cutest

up until very recently they spent a decent amount of time wandering around from coral to coral in the tank and returning to the condy occasionally. they particularly like to play in the GSP now and then. but i noticed yesterday that they spent the majority of their time in the anemone. they are both actually juveniles still. the bigger one is just growing in the rest of its third stripe.

the only downside to them hosting in here is that they do have a small number of stings on their bodies (small black spots). but im glad the condy doesnt try to eat them and doesnt react to their touch anymore
