True red PE vs red PE

Yes lots of blue 3 watt cree leds and a few t5s. I have zoas and palys under different lights different tanks. The best coloration and growth so far seems to be under majority blue lights. I also have been using 20k metal halide and rb cree leds and they are loving it. My son is running all blue and purple leds and t5s and his zoas and palys are going crazy. Ridiculous colors. Every polyp he has put in his tank has increased coloration and has good growth.

This is the first time I've heard so many good things about blue light only for zoas. As far as I remember.
What T5s are you using? ATI Blue Plus is the only one I would bet for growth.
Even though they're supplementary lights.
I agree with the 20000K MHs, very good bulbs, but I'm not a fan of LEDs at all.
The colors under blue light are ridiculous, indeed. They look amazing because they are reflexion of the blue lights. That's all.

So, you don't like amazing looking corals if they are under led lights.
Sorry dude but it sounds like your hating. Have you ever seen corals under leds in person?
I've been using cree leds for the last 4 years and prior to that for 10 years I used florescent and metalhalide, usually xm 250 or 400 watt radiums. I know the difference. Trust me adding some rb crees to any light setup will benefit your corals. I've seen the results in person, not just my tank but many others.

Yes, you're right.
Their point is to show what would be the "True Red People eater".

I remember that I saw many pictures in the past showing the "True Red PEs" without the black around the mouth. I think was in an old website called Aloha Corals...

This is in regards to post #15.
I was wrong!
Found these pictures online from Aloha Corals.

Those were called True Red PEs from Hawaii without excess of blue light, so we can see what type of red they really are with flash.
