Trumpet coral problem

Ive had this trumpet in my tank for a few weeks now. It came from the bumped and bruised tank at my LFS(which I now work at) and it looked fine despite a couple of dead polyps. It doesnt ever really seem to inflate all the way and some of the polyps retract so much the skeleton underneath is tearing through the tissue. All params are where they are supposed to be, except calcium is a little low at about 350 ppm, and he is about 8 to 10 inches under 130 watts of pc. Any body have any advice. Its really weird because a frag of it is doing really nicely in a friends tank.

Mine is 8 inches under a 250 mh and quite happy. I keep alk at about 8.3 and cal at about 400. It's right at the edge of a ledge and gets a lot of upflow; 1.025 salinity, 80 temp. They don't want to be range of a softie, though they tolerate mushrooms.
