Well as some of you know the story, my cuttlefish died about 2 months ago after a servere case of butt burn. He jetted into a rock when I triped into the tank. I was really upset about it since he was eating and behaiving so well for a good period of time. I took some time off from the hobby and still let my tank cycle.
I went to the wholesaler the other day. All Seas in gardena said they were expecting a shipment of a variety of cuttlefish. The couldnt give me the types of which they were getting, but I suspect bandensis. So I am wandering if i should try again at these guys or not, maybe this time I will try 4 or 6 and see which ones pair off. I got attached to my last one, and I know if I do get a few, some will die.
I cannot decide between more cuttle's or an aggressive tank. I have a baby Blue Spot Grouper that is going to need a bigger tank, so I thought of putting him in the big tank.
To answer the questions, he was a bandensis and was about 2-3 inches long. I live on the beach and collect crabs for him often. I had a deep sand bed, about 8 inches, and the crabs would bury themselves at the bottom. When they moved my cuttle could sense them, even at the bottom of the sand, and jet into it and back out of the sand with the crab. The Cuttle would be completely submerged in the sand, like 5 inches under it, and still come out with the crab.
I miss Mr. Grumpy
