Try this again-My 600 gallon tank build

I would love to have a 10 foot tank. It would be perfect in my 11 foot wall.

Yea, the overflow is made from 3/4 too.
 
That overflow is beefy man. You arent using my sump baffles are you? LOL

Wheres the nog pics from the Dart NW? Did it pull anything out of that saltwater I brought you? Did you get that jig you were telling me about the other day?
 
I really havent done anything new lately. I started to get the other two top holes cut yesterday, but the baby woke up 5 minutes after I fired up the router and I was in big trouble.

My wife made the commet to me the other day "why dont you just put a tank in the wall that fits close to the end of the wall". The wall is 11 feet and a 10 foot wide tank would fit perfect. I am really thinking I should go with a 10 foot tank instead of this 8 foot. I havent cut the wall yet. :)

You're going to regret it if you don't take her up on her suggestion! You have obviously put a LOT of effort into what you've done so far, but I bet you can find plenty of interest from others here to buy the one you are currently building.

As they say, third time's a charm! :)

If you have the room then what the hey..10 sounds nice, INext time around I am going 10 or 12. I needed the room for my build and went with an 8. your tan looks awsome. If you build another it can only get better. But it looks like you have done this before anyway..

Anyway go for the 10...
 
My buddy that bought the 500 I built was over at the house the other day and I mentioned to him that I was thinking about selling this tank. He told me he wanted it so there it is. After wheeling and dealing I got a hold of some more acrylic for the new tank. The new tank isnt going to be a 10 foot, but it will be 96x72x36. It will not be going in the same wall as this tank was going in. I will end up framing in a "fish room"inside the garage. Doing this, I dont have to run power and water to the opposite side of the house and I can have what ever equipment I want and wont be limited to the area under the stand.

In the mean time, I am finishing up this tank for James and I will keep posting progress until it leaves. I got the other two holes cut out of the top. I will go back over them with the template to make them nice and pretty. Then all that is left is to glue the overflow box on and glue the bottom on. Here is were it stands now.

What! You sold this one too? LOL... Maybe I should let you sell my little 120g. You seem to have luck selling tanks. :)
Keep up with the pictures. I want to see the tank finished.
 
what does a 4 x 8 sheet of 1.25" cast acrylic cost these days?

edit: just looked it up, Interstate Plastics, $1344.00 ! :lol:

The sheets I got for Brett were 8' x 6' 1.25" acrylic. It took four guys to get each sheet off the pallet. They weight around 300 lbs a sheet. Heavy and Not cheap. But there are deals to be found out there if you are looking to go big.
