Trying my hand with a Tesselated Blenny

My Diver friend collected a couple of these a couple of months ago and gave me one. Unfortunately mine was consumed by my goby and the one in his tank vanished.

He went back out yesterday and brought some more in. He kept 1 and I put 2 in my DT and one in my frag tank. Hopefully we can keep at least one of them alive. They are awesome little blennys.

What an awesome looking blenny! Thanks for sharing and I wish you both GL with them. Please do try and get some better pictures, more like the first one and share them. This is a fish that I'd like to get.

Try taking pictures with the blue lights off, and if you can't, you can get an orange gel filter for your camera/phone that will eliminate or compensate for the blue lighting. You can also play around with your camera's white balance which will help offset the blue

Sorry to hear that the first one didn't make it Zack. Very cool that your buddy got you another one. Good luck with this one. I'll look forward to updates and more pics. What an awesome little fish!

Thank you! Yeah I wish the first one would have lasted longer. If this round fails, I think the best way to try again would be to get some large barnacles and mount them on the back wall so they have a place to hide away from the other fish.

How is your system going? I will go look for the thread.

That sounds like a great idea, a back wall barnacle blenny hotel

I don't have any huge updates... still saving money for my equipment purchases, including a new well (can't keep fish without water). I pretty much finished the aquascaping. I still have to finish the stand. I managed to finish the front doors, but I'm using it as a workbench to finish my FW tank's aquascaping.

I'm creating a styrofoam 3D cliff partial background for my native river biotope tank that I'm also setting up. I have all the equipment needed for that tank already, just need to finish the background, then set it up and cycle it.
