Hello guys,
I've been reading the parasite stickies and I have the experience with most common fish diseases.
My only challenge is I have bad experiences with fresh water dips and formalin dips. So I've been looking for alternatives to treat brook & Uronema.
In Snorvich's sticky, He mentioned Acriflavin and Flagyl (metronidazole) being effective in treating these diseases. In search of Acriflavin, I came across this drug.
Tetra parasite guard which is a freshwater medication with the following product info. Notice active ingredients includes: Praziquantel, Dflubenzuron, Metronidazole and Acriflavin.
Product info:
* Fast-dissolve tablets for the treatment of aquarium fish parasites
* Pre-measured tablets ease the care of freshwater aquarium fish
* Remedy aquarium fish of a variety of external and internal parasites
TetraClear internal and external parasites from aquarium fish the fast and easy way. Tetra Parasite Guard is a fast-dissolving fizz tablet that eliminates the need for scooping or measuring powder or liquid medication. Parasite Guard removes external and internal parasites including flukes, internal worms, lice, anchor worm and flagellates such as hexemita or spironucleus associated with hole-in-the-head disease. Also protects freshwater tropical aquarium fish against secondary infections. Works without the need to raise aquarium water temperature. For freshwater aquariums. Eight tablets. Treats up to 80 gallon aquariums.
Active Ingredients: Praziquantel, Dflubenzuron, Metronidazole and Acriflavin.
Note: Not for use in aquariums housing ornamental crustaceans such as shrimp and crabs.
I wonder if we could adapt that for saltwater use? Seems to be a handy med for brook and uronema. Would like to see if anyone has ideas or experience with this med?
Thanks.
