Well I got a replacement light for my Chinese Black Box, it's an Ocean Revive Arctic T247. Awesome light and completely different appearance and spectrum from the CBB.
This said I really made my acans mad the first day the lights were on. I had blues set to come on at 5am then off at 7pm. The whites were set to come on at 7am and off at 5pm. Blues were set to 60% and whites were set to 40%.
Since I'm not working due to a royally screwed up back and going to have another surgery in March I take a lot of narcotics needless to say what I take will knock most people completely out LOL. But because of this I have weird sleep hours. I'm usually up at 2am then take a nap around 1pm then up at 4 or so, then repeat the schedule.
So the next day after getting my new lights they came on as setup and around 1 ish I went to take a nap but my corals looked amazing. When I woke up not so much :uhoh3: All of my Acans were pretty much skeletons only. I could see the florescence in all of them but no polyps showing at all. :hammer: Well I knew right away it was because of too much light. So I reset the whites to 30% and only on from 10am to 3pm. Well that was still too much because my Elegance was totally frumpy. So I changed the whites again to on at 10am and off at 1pm but still at 30% for now this seems ok.
What would you suggest I run them at so my tank can get acclimated to the new lights. I use to run the CBB at 75% blues and 50% whites with no problem running them at these settings with blues on at 5am then off at 7pm and the whites on at 7am then off at 5pm.
So now we know the Ocean Revive Arctic T245 is a much stronger light than the CBB and why my first settings were set lower. So what should I run them at? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm also going to post this in the Ocean Revive page. I wanted to post it here since my tank is LPS dominant
