Ok, I admit it, I'm really bad trying to ID nepthids.
I believe that what I picked up is likely Capnella or neospongodes, but I just want to confirm it with folks that know better. I don't think it's a dendronepthya as it doesn't have any spiricules that I can see, either when opened or closed.
I also know that I need to cut up the conch shell that it's mounted on, to get it away from the star polpys that it currently co-habitates with. I plan on doing that over the weekend.
