Trying to make "fitting" choices.

I am setting up my first tank after many months of reading and study. I have a 90 gallon, reef ready, perfecto/marineland tank and stand. The stands inside dimensions are 47x17x27. I have a very simple question.

I would like to use a Euroreef RS 135 skimmer. Its dimensions make it 24 inches tall. I spoke with a gentleman at ER, and he told me that the skimmer will fit, and that with the new "0" clearance cup fitting, I would have no trouble removing and cleaning the cup.

Do any of you have experience with this skimmer, and has anyone set up this tank and stand? Any other set up sugestions would also be appreciated. I am considering making my sump ou of an aquarium such as a 20 Long or something slightly larger.

Thanks for any input. This forum is great for those of us new to the hobby.

Yes, I like euro-reef skimmers and the RS 135 would be a great choice for your setup. I have an older version of the RS 80 on my 55 and it still performs great. Very efficient. You could even get by with a RS 100 i your bioload isn't too large. The skimmer is 24'' tall so it should fit too.

You could get something like a 30 long for the sump, that way you'd have more room for a fuge too.

Thanks for the reply. The tank stand height really does limit my options, but if the euro reef rs135 fits, thats the way I will go.
