Trying to pair up firefish...

I got a pair of firefish yesterday from liveaquaria.com with the intent of pairing them up. it's my understanding that the 2 fish i recieved had never seen eachother before i put them in my quarentine tank yesterday due to liveaquaria housing each fish separetly.

Well, i knew prior that Firefish often fight and need to be kept singly. But i've also heard and read that they will pair up. SO i added a note to my order with liveaquaria to try and either give me a pair or two fish that would be good candidates to pair up.

So i was kind of nervous at first but now they've been together for about a day and they seem to be best buds. One of the fish is significantly smaller than the other so maybe that's part of it. But they have not yet been aggressive towards eachother and actually prefer to sleep and swim next to one another.

Question is: Is this a good indication of pairing activity, or should i keep on eye on them in case they decide to hate on eachother later?

Liveaquaria doesn't sell tank bread firefish, so i know they're wild caught. And i introduced them at the same time, their tank mates aren't agressive, they have lots of space for dartholes. But they're not "pre-grouped"...and i didn't know they mate in pairs of 3 (harem). So i guess having a mated pair is out of the question with only 2 of them.

I'll see what happens. The worst that will happen is i'll loose one.
