Trying to trap 6 line wrasse

What's the best way to get rid of a pesky 6 line wrasse. So far, after a week, it hasn't come close to going into the trap.

Hands down one of the hardest fish to remove from a tank. Traps often don't work. Personally, I'd remove some of the rock from one side of the tank, making a nice open area. Use a couple of nets and herd the wrasse into the open corner and try to catch it. I had to tear down my 120 once to get one. Not fun but it worked.

I had a really hard time catching mine.

Here's how I did it:
1. Put a couple fish nets in the tank and leave them in there for a couple days until the sixline wrasse is no longer phased by it.
2. Only feed the fish by putting the fish food IN the net. If your sixline wrasse is like mine, it will try to eat the food THROUGH the net rather than going between the net and the glass. Eventually it'll realize it's much easier to swim to the other side to eat.
3. Once the wrasse starts eating from the right side, quickly trap the fish by moving the net up to the glass. You have to do this quick because my sixline would be spooked at the slightest movement of my net.

It took me about 3-4 days, but I didn't have to remove any rocks at all. Good luck!

The BEST way to remove one is not to put one in the tank in the first place. But, failing that, the easiest way is to use a fish trap with a controllable door. Don't feed the tank for two days, then bait the trap with mysis (PE) and only open the door when the 6 line is in the front of the trap. Usually takes about 20 minutes.

Heres how I trapped mine.

I had an aptasia problem and everytime I added a peppermint shrimp he ate them..I put a trap with a door that shuts if you pull a string. I tried for about a week with the trap and just when I thought I was going to give up I went to the LFS and picked up another peppermint shrimp. Came back home place the peppermint shrimp in the trap and within a few minuted the "pain in the wrasse" went in the trap to eat the peppermint shrimp and I slammed the door shut. It was pretty easy to trap him once I figured out what kind of bait to use.

I used Snorvich's method, works great. I borrowed a trap from my LFS, maybe yours has one you can borrow.

After 8 days of waiting in front of the tank, decreased feedings, lots of prayers, and many failed attempts, I finally caught the 6 Line Wrasse!! Somehow, after hours of sitting near the tank, the wrasse finally went in the trap and I caught it. Now I'm ready to get more beautiful and PEACEFUL wrasses. Thanks for all the advice!
