TT pointers

Just picked up a piece and was looking for any pointers that people may have on placement or flow or anything that comes to mind.

Moderate flow, moderate light and work from there. A lot depends on where it was in the tank from the person you got it from.

Mother colony was center of display about mid level frag was on the bottom. I put it on the bottom when I first put it in the tank and it started to open but decided to move it higher. I'll until its happy with the flow and light im not going to make its location "permanent".

Mine grew like stink on a monkey when I had it up high under a halide and in high flow, BUT, the color suffered. Much better coloration down low.

Best coloration you'll see on a TT is under compact fluorescents, but most people don't run em anymore.

gratz on the TT,If you keep your params in line it should grow like a weed anwhere you put it in the tank..

Mine does :)

Feed it shrimp every other day and it will grow quickly. Try to get them as close to the mouth as possible and it will take it. I turned 1 head into 30 in 6 months before I turned it in to ARC a few years ago.

Like shrimp from the store or mysis. Does it take time until it is larger for the tenticles to get longer and stringy?

I have neither deep pockets or a vast array of knowledge. That's why I'm asking so many questions and appreciate what help people have given. I started with simple Kenya and mushrooms went to gsp, picked up a rose bubble tip and have had that for a month and a half and it has doubled in size. Now I have frog and a tt. Slow gradual progression.

what ever you do dont put it above your GSP!!!!
I bought mine as 1 head, got it to almost 8 heads, center piece beauty...... then it broke free from the epoxy due to size/weight and fell down into my GSP. Now i have no heads :-(
Some my advice is careful placement!

It will be fine, feed it once a week since you have a small tank (dont wanna deal with cyano/algae issues. Ive seen it do well when everything else was dying.
