The unthinkable has happened I got ich in my reef. Must have been from a non QT coral. I haven't added any fish in months and all fish went through QT. Achilles tang himself was in QT for 100 days to ensure he entered ich / flukes free. This was a year and a half ago so I doubt he's be carrying this whole time. He is the only one showing so I'm not in a mass panic but I am disappointed.
I also have a Naso tang the rest are all small fish (wrasses anthias ect). I'm looking at 43x7" kiddie pools that are 35 gallons but I'd fill to say 30. Should give them room to swim. Once the TTM is complete I plan on splitting my fish up. I have a 90 gallon garden eel tank. They would certainly be freaked out but the Achilles and Naso could spend 2 months in there. Unfortunately it's only a 3 foot tank but very minimal rockwork and it's full of macro algae they could devour and actually end up fatter before they return to their tank.
The rest of the smaller fish could be split up between my frag tank and my 55g QT tank that I always leave running. I actually normally treat my fish with copper instead of TTM but since I don't have a large enough tank to treat them and keep them in for 72 days TTM seems like the better option. I wouldn't mind treating them with Prazi as well just to make sure they don't have anything else.
The other option I have is to catch the fish a few at a time TTM them and then move them to the garden eel tank / frag tank / long term QT tanks but by not doing them all at once I'd be looking at 3-4 months before they all get back in the tank. I'm open to any advice other then leaving them be as it's not acceptable to me to have ich in a tank with an Achilles Tang. I will be moving in a year and want to make sure my fish are in good shape before then.
