tube anemones

nice looking tube worm mine isnt like that it developed a tube around it. Nice and clean how did you get one like that? I have had mine for about 7 years and its pretty hardy. Anyone know the life span of tube worms?

I didn't know tube anemones were worms. Are you sure that's what they are? I don't know much about them. I know they are a cold water species and they do not photosynthetic. When I bought my tube anemone, it was really stressed out and did not have a tube. I simply dug a hole and put in the whole and burried it. Next couple of days it would gradually come out more and more until it looked like it did in the picture I provided.

I thought they were legitimate anemones...they've got nematocysts(right?)...not something often seen in worms afaik.

I dont know what its called I bought one at a fish store and it was labled tube worm. What does a tube worm look like? if that isnt one, hmm I didnt know they were cold water anemones I stuck mine in the fish tank with other fishes in warm water and it seems fine.

A tube worm is something completely different from a Tube anemone...lol.

An anemone is a Cidarian.

that's a tube worm.

Tube anemones are not anemones...and they should do okay in your normal aquarium temperatures...my brother keeps his at 82 and the tube nem seems happy.
