Tube fan question

We have a 3-4 week old 55gal tank. We recieved a quite a bit of LR from a already well established tank. The LR came w/ some fans already established but here in the last few days there are a bunch of small tube like developments on a few of the other LR. Is this normal? or is this a prob?
They r about 1-1 1/2 inches in length

Are they soft brown tubes that tear easily, like these?

If so, these little tube worms are no problem at all. They'll come and go as the amount of food for them rises and falls. I used to have hundred when I ran a skimmerless nano, but a few weeks after adding a skimmer, I don't have any at all...I miss them.
