Hi everybody!
I want to share with you guys my triumph on the tube snails..
my tank has been overridden by tubesnails...
I tried:
crazy glue, epoxy, bumble bee snails, Melanurus wrasse, with NO luck

and my last addition was the blue spot Puffer (Canthigaster solandri)

I did feed him mysis shrimp and he took them no problem, so then I stopped to SPOT feeding him for 3 days and tonight finally the magic happened...

he went crazy on the tube snails alreay I see empty tubes especially the mid sized ones and the small :)

here is a video of the puffer nibbling on the tube snails look at his little tummy how nice and full it is ...:) very happy so far

I will do a clip when regular lights are on

Hi becon776
He is liking, my tricolor only one...Nothing else has been touched ...
Also he nips at the small / medium tube snails...
Not the big ones... :(

Not working the freaking puffer
this morning decided to sample all the sps together with the snails. :(
not reef safe......

I know... but he was eating the small- med snails though...
I gotta find something else...that will kill the snails without killing the sps

Boo. The search goes on. Until then i am going to continue to think about complete reboot with sterile dry rock

I have been thinking the same...
But 90% of my corals are growing on the rocks...
And if you do.... make sure that no snail is hiding in the corals..otherwise they will regain control of your tank again.. right now
I'm thinking to remove as many of good snails (turban, colonista,Mexican, ) and Zap the tank with "no more Snails" it's a fresh water snail killer...

Was your melunarus a male or female? I have found the females are FAR superior in predation of creepy crawlies than the male. I am talking 100 to one ratio on effectiveness. I never realized this till I got a big male after having females. The male spends the majority of his time hiding in the rocks, the female is always hunting.

hi Crayola .. then if that's the case I think I have a Female because she doesn't stop Hunting..
and she is getting nice and thick
