Tunez Wavebox

Does anyone use the Tunez Wavebox? If so, what are your thoughts on it and have long have you been using it?

I'm about to setup a Glasscages.com 300 gallon (96x24x30) and have been thinking of using this method. I currently have 4 K4's as well that will aid in aiming the water.

My only fear is the warning about the wavebox weakening the tank seals. Has this been an issue for anyone? Does anyone know someone who has had their tank bust due to this?

Waves are important, but avoiding 300 gallons on my carpet is more important.

they claim in can reduce the life of the tank up to 20 %.

Glass Cages from what I have heard, dont do the best silicone jobs. I would go else where for the tank.

GC tank with a 20% reduction in life of the tank sounds like a bad idea. But this is what I have heard.

I have my Wavebox on a 150RR and have not had any problems. I also think the size of the wave also matters. If your doing the see-saw action, I can see the 20% reduction of tank life, but if your doing a small wave I wouldnt worry about it. we all upgrade sooner or later, dont we all.

I already have the 300 Glasscages tank. I've always heard they were overbuilt, the excess silicone just looks hideous.

Either way, it certainly presents an issue. I've heard about these waveboxes weakening the seals, yet I've never heard of a break. I could certainly see how it could damage the tank though.

I have two diy boxes on a Lamar 180. One box on an overbuilt 300 should be safe. You can also turn down the size of the wave.
