Tunicate freebie

So I ordered a small mushroom colony a few weeks back and the day after I had placed it in my tank I noticed these tube looking things coming up in between the mushrooms, they would occasionally "deflate" and "inflate". It was later recommended to me that they are tunicates. I know very little about these except that they do not need lighting as they are non-photosynthetic and that they benefit from supplimental feedings of liquid plankton.

Is there anything else I need to know about these? Can I safely remove it/them from my mushroom rock and re-establish them in their own area or would I end up damaging them by trying to remove them from the mushroom rock?

Any information is appreciated. Thank you.

If they are tunicates, or sponges, you will likely not be able to move it without seriously damaging them.... But don't worry, they're typically good hitchhiker's.
