Tunicates

I have never seen these before at my LFS until yesterday. I however have seen them in magazines and online in both blue and orange. Does anyone know about keeping these and if so how hard are they? What are their requirements? Is there any truth to these being 'Sea Squirts' and that they must be captured bagged and added to your tank underwater that they can not be out of the water for any length of time? Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated.

they come in orange? i think that would be really pretty! i've only seen these tunicates in blue though.

It looks like they are a 'Sea Squirt' I just want to know if anyone has had sucess keeping them. My LFS has a blue one for sell and I was thinking about getting it, but have no idea what its' needs are.

i have one of those.. it came as a hitchhiker on a zoa colony. its kinda brownish stem w/ clear white heads at the top. they open up for a week or two then slouch down as if they were dead. they pop back up a few days after that and usually show new growth. these specimens require very dirty water to sustain growth. i had it in a skimmerless tank where the water was perfect for them. mines grew from 2 heads to 10 in about 2 months time frame.

Very odd species of tunicate the way they grow those long stems,IMO. I've heard mixed results on this species. Provide phytoplankton, bbs, micofauna. Maybe just stur up the sand bed from time to time. Very neat animal. I wish there was more interest in these beautiful organisms.
