No actually its good, they thrive in good water quality however their lifespans are really short (couple of months) I kept a "butter" tunicate the purple and yellow ones for about seven months before it finally died. Then my Mantis Shirmp ripped what was left of it off the rock and threw it around the tank for about 20 min then got bored with it......kinda odd.....he likes to play with shells sometimes as well.
Have some - big and small hitchhikers on the corals' rocks, one year - no problems, no special feeding, and they grow. But small colonial turnicates, looking like a band of the fish eggs, appeared and vanished. Other filter feeders are OK in the same tank.
