I have a Tunze 230 skimmer I bought many years ago. I quit using it about 6 years ago when the motor began to make some noise and my local fish store ended up saying they couldn't get parts and sold me a new (different brand) skimmer.
I'd like to see if I can get parts to repair this one as I'm setting up an additional tank and really liked this skimmer. The problem is that when the pump runs it's makes a noise, sort of a high pitched clicking, grinding noise. The pump runs at full rate, and is functional, just noisy. If I push on the pump shaft from the bottom while it's running it's then quiet. What part do you think I need to replace, the bearings?
I see for sale the "Tunze Internal Parts for Turbelle 3000.50"which looks like a complete parts assembly, magnet, shaft, bearings, and brakes which would be great. When I look at the parts diagram from my original instruction manual those parts on the diagram are all numbered 3000.xx, so is this the right assembly to fit my 235.02 pump? The diagram doesn't show a 3000.50, but the bearings are 3000.40, the shaft and brake assembly is 3000.30, etc.
